I know the basics but I'd like to understand in depth. I'd like to know more about the life of Mohammad, the history of the religion, the differences between different schools of thought. Unfortunately, when I've asked Muslim friends to explain the religion to me, I haven't learned that much. Sometimes they are not that well educated themselves; and sometimes they have trouble explaining things in terms that Christians can understand.
It's the same in Christianity; most people are not well educated enough to explain the "big picture": the life of Jesus; the history of the church; the differences between different sects. I can do it, but only because I've spent years attending church, studying, and taking religion classes.
